Our second day at the convention could have possibly turned out rather badly had Tropical Storm Isaac become a hurricane. Luckily for us, it pretty much dissipated by Monday morning leaving only rain and wind in its path. The change in weather allowed our group the chance to head back to the convention hotel and get some work done, and I was given the opportunity to interview Governor Deal this afternoon. He had some wise insight into the state of Georgia, and it was great to get the chance to talk with him.
In the evening we attended a reception with the Georgia delegation at the Hyatt and were able to meet all sorts of people from our great state. The exciting atmosphere and celebration was apparent the moment we stepped off the elevator and into the suite, and I really enjoyed mingling and getting to know the delegates on a more personal level. Tomorrow starts the first of many speeches and events for us to cover as the GOP moves closer to officially nominating Romney, so the days to come are sure to be interesting.
