Cowboy Hats, Roll Calls, and Speakers

Fiscal conservatism seemed to be a major issue discussed among the speakers at the convention tonight.  Tonight’s theme focused on reducing unemployment, building jobs in America, and small businesses.
The Texas delegation was definitely a highlight of tonight’s meeting.

The majority of the Texas delegates were dressed in denim, Texas flag sportshirts, and cowboy hats.  Their uniform showed their dedication to the state of Texas and to their involvement in the Republican Party.  It was definitely an eye-catcher and made for interested commentary for those of us in the guest section.

Excluding the speakers, the State Roll Call was the most exciting part of tonight’s events.  Three states particularly stood out to me throughout the Roll Call.  Iowa cast 22 of 26 votes to Congressman Ron Paul.  Additionally, Paul gained a majority vote in Minnesota with 33 votes out of 40.  Nevada also dedicated 17 out of 28 votes to Congressman Ron Paul.

Another noteworthy moment occurred when New Jersey pushed Governor Romney over 1,144 delegates with their unanimous 50 delegate vote.  The entire room applauded in their respect for the Presidential hopeful.  The Roll Call ended with 2,061 votes to Governor Romney!

Many amazing individuals took part in a speaking role at tonight’s event.  Among said speakers were:  Governor Scott Walker, Ann Romney, and Governor Chris Christie, just to name a few.  Ann Romney truly made an impression among the delegation and throughout America with her speech, focusing on love and her relationship with Governor Romney.  Key-note speaker, Governor Chris Christie rocked the convention with a powerful speech, addressing his role as a Republican Governor in a blue state.

Overall, tonight was absolutely incredible.  There are so many things that I undoubtedly failed to mention; but I am grateful to have been a part of tonight’s event!

Notable standing ovations were received by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Ann Romney.
