Day 2........is also AWESOME

Day two was also AWESOME!! I got breakfast around 9:00am, and my group began our day at the delegation hotel! The delegation hotel was very busy this morning because many delegates and guests were preparing for the first day of the Republican National Convention. We had the opportunity to meet many influential people involved in the Georgia GOP: Doug Collins, Sam Olens, Saxby Chambliss, Debbie Boehner, and Frank Strickland! After socializing and meeting many of these influential people, I left the hotel to get lunch with Dr. Swint and Weston Slaton. We went to Red Lobster for lunch, and we enjoyed many political conversations that related to our GOP experience! After we ate lunch, we had about three hours to relax and get extra homework/research done. Therefore, I napped, did some homework, and managed to watch half of a movie on HBO. I was very excited when the clock struck 5:00pm because Weston Slaton and I were headed to the Politico Nightly Lounge. We stayed at the lounge for about three hours, and we meet many wonderful people involved in the Republican Party. Also, we had the opportunity to watch the convention in live format from the Politico reporters, and it was awesome! We left the Politico Lounge around 11:00pm, and we finished watching the convention at the delegation hotel. Also, we saw many familiar faces from last night’s reception. For example, we talked to the famous Rob Doll tonight, and we also made him aware of how cool his glasses were. Around 1:00am, Dr. Carlson picked us up from the delegation hotel, and we are calling it a night! I am excited to see what tomorrow has in store for our group!
